Police Go On Manhunt Of Kidnappers, Rescue 1 of 4 Victims in Ibadan

The police have gone on manhunt of kidnappers who abducted 4 persons in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday. The police, in their rapid response, rescued one of the 4 kidnapped victims at the Cocoa Research Institute, CRIN, Ibadan.

The Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, of the Oyo State Command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, on Wednesday, said the Police swift response team have successfully rescued one of the four persons abducted by suspected kidnappers, while efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining victims.

Police authorities confirmed that the rescued individual has been taken into safe custody, where he is currently undergoing debriefing as part of ongoing investigations into the incident.

The PPRO equally stated that the victim’s vehicle was also recovered by the operatives during the operation.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to immediately reinforce officers at the Idi-Ayunre Divisional Police Headquarters.

The directive also involves the deployment of other tactical teams to support the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, and personnel already on ground.

The security teams have since launched an intensive bush combing operation across surrounding areas in a bid to locate the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the remaining victims.

The Police assured that the operation will continue until all those responsible for the abduction are apprehended and the other victims rescued unharmed.
