A former Special Assistant on Digital and Social Media to late President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has shown support for former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on his political warfare with the All Progressives Congress, APC, government in the build up to the 2027 General Elections.

El-Rufai has been confronting the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, engaging in political brinkmanship for the ascendency of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to wrest power from incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Invariably, El-Rufai has been encountering victimization from the APC government with the federal might at the party government's behest.

After the harassment at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his return to Nigeria by the Department of Security Services, DSS, Lauretta Onochie and Najaatu Mohammed, in subsequent days, paid solidarity visit to Nasir El-Rufai at his residence in Abuja, to express their support at the most difficult times.

Lauretta Onochie had, before the El-Rufai political explosion, expressed critical views about the Tinubu administration and the perceived failure of the APC government. She attempted to paint the picture that the Buhari administration was better.

Lauretta Onochie remains an ardent believer in late President Buhari, tenaciously glued to the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, the political platform late Buhari, as well as El-Rufai, joined the APC alliance.

El-Rufai appears to wear the emblem of CPC leadership in the absence of Buhari, to which Onochie maintains steadfast loyalty.
