Lagos-Port Harcourt Bound Arik Air Makes Emergency Landing In Benin
Lagos-Port Harcourt bound Arik Air Boeing 737 flying from on Wednesday made an emergency landing at Benin City Airport after developing engine problems
No injury was recorded as passengers and crew estimated at about eighty people, disembarked normally and were received by officials of the Federal Airport Authorities of Nigeria, FAAN.
Flight operations to the Benin City Airport showed that regular flights continue at the airport despite the emergency landing. The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, immediately commenced investigation into the issue to know what led to the damaged aircraft engine.
In a video, one of the aircraft engines on the left side is seen to be badly damaged as the plane taxied before being diverted to a section of the airport.
