Fubara Strengthens Grassroots Healthcare, Engages In Measles Vaccination
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has put in place measure to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery in the state. The state government commence efforts to reduce measles and rubella infections.
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has engaged in capacity building for the 2025–2026 Measles–Rubella Vaccination Campaign in Rivers.
The State Health Educator of the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, Dr. Dianne Babbo, at a one-day media orientation meeting in Port Harcourt, disclosed the introduction of the measles–rubella vaccine into the Rivers Expanded Programme on Immunization, EPI.
Dr. Babbo stated that the vaccination campaign is targeted at children between the ages of 9 months to 14 years. The programme is scheduled to run from February 4 to 13.
