Eid-el-Fitr: IGP Disu Orders Nationwide Deployment Of Tactical Assets
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Friday, congratulated Muslim faithful nationwide on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
A statement by the Force Headquarters indicated that, to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festivity, the IGP directed Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders to implement robust security measures across the country.
The strategy includes the deployment of tactical teams, intelligence operatives, and the Special Intervention Squad to Eid prayer grounds and other critical locations.
Security presence is intensified on highways, motor parks, recreational centres, and major public spaces.
The IGP further ordered heightened visibility policing, coordinated patrols, enhanced surveillance, and intelligence-led stop-and-search operations to deter crime and ensure swift response to any threat.
He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and report suspicious activities.
