CP Leads Strategic Visit To Community Delta After Sexual Harassment

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Aina Adesola, deepening investigation into the incident of sexual harassment, led the State Command's top management and operation team on a fact finding and confidence building visit to the community.

The Police are investigating the incident of sexual assault, ‘rape festival’ by unguarded youths in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement indicated that the visit became necessary as the inspector general of police is deeply concerned, noting that the sexual assault  has caused embarrassment to the state and country.

The Delta State Police Commissioner stressed that the Command will not relent until all those involved are arrested and prosecuted.

He reiterated that the police command headquarters maintain an active Gender Desk to handle cases of sexual and gender based violence, while encouraging citizens to utilize the facility with assurance of confidentiality.

It will be recalled that youths in Ozoro had, during a festival, molested females in sight. Meanwhile, 16 suspects have so far been arrested by the police.
