Advocacy groups have demanded both the federal and state governments to facilitate the release of kidnapped children in captivity as gift for this years Children's Day. They urged the governments to brace up and protect the children from all forms of Social vices and insecurity in Nigeria, urging government to implement the right educational policy towards making the children a better and secured person.

The groups, which include Comfort Center For Child Advocacy Response And Empowerment, Glorious Teen Foundation, and others, described the state of kidnapping of school children from their schools by bandits as a failure on the part of government. They called for adequate security of schools to make learning conducive and secure, noting that schools have become a soft target, are destroyed and abandoned.

They urged government to make conscious efforts to Implement the right policy and invest more in primary and secondary education, which are the foundation of learning, saying government cannot continue to lament but find solution to fix the challenges, particularly, the rescue of the abducted school children in Oyo and elsewhere.
