Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has denied association with bandits. He dismissed reports linking him to bandit groups and terrorist activities.

Gumi said some media outlets misrepresented his comments made during interviews, lectures, and public discussions on insecurity and banditry in Nigeria.

He stated that his interventions over the years have been aimed at supporting efforts to end insecurity and restore peace in affected communities.

Gumi dismissed the visa restriction on him by the Saudi Arabian government as being linked to terrorism allegations. According to him, the matter is purely administrative and unrelated to any terrorist activity.

Gumi called on media organizations to uphold professional standards by verifying information before publishing. He warned that inaccurate reporting on sensitive national issues could fuel tension and mislead the public.
