Man, 29, Renounces Cultism, Surrenders Pistol To Taskforce in Edo
The Edo State Security Corps has received a 29-year-old man, who voluntarily renounced his membership of a cult group and surrendered a Baretta Pistol to security authorities.
The zonal Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, Joel Aidamebor, in a statement, narrated that the development followed a security alert from the Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, who reported suspicious noises from a school near his residence.
According to him, one of the young men in the community approached him of his plan to leave the cult group. The chairman, then, informed the Edo State Security Corps and the Divisional Police Officer, who received him as a voluntarily surrendered repentant cultist.
The 29-year-old, who described himself as an upcoming musician, said he has no regrets renouncing Cultism because of the dangers and subsequent warning by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
