The National Caretaker Committee of the factional People Democratic Party, PDP, said they will soon go back to the national secretariat to assume duties after long wait arising from the sealing of the headquarters by the FCT police.

Secretary of the committee, senator Samuel Anyanwu, gave the indication while fielding questions from journalists after the committee’s meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

Senator Anyanwu said the appeal court on Monday gave a mandate for the committee to work and continue the defence of the party and that they will by the time they get the certified true copy of the court’s decision.

He said the move became necessary, especially, now that they are preparing for their national convention later this month.

Earlier, the Chairman of the caretaker Committee, Abdulrahman Mohammed, told journalists that the party has become stronger after Monday's judgement.

Mohammed called on their members to continue to work together day and night towards the conduct of their national convention.
