A faction of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has dismissed allegations linking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to any leadership imposition in the ADC, insisting that party succession is guided strictly by its constitution.

The Director of Media and Public Affairs of the factional ADC, Christopher Okechuku, in a statement, accused former minister Bolaji Abdullahi of spreading falsehoods and attempting to unlawfully take over the party’s leadership.

The media director described Abdullahi’s claims as misleading, questioning his membership status and legitimacy to speak for the party. 

The party further alleged that some state chairmen who aligned with Abdullahi have been sidelined, accusing his camp of pursuing a self-serving agenda.

The party maintained that the ADC remains under its legitimate leadership and warned against any attempt to destabilize the party.
