A petrol-laden tanker, on Friday, crashed into a tricycle and killed the operator as the trcuk driver swerved to avoid a Toyota Venza in the Oke Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The truck driver was reportedly coming from the Molete when he lost control while avoiding the Venza. He crossed the median to the other side of the road and crashed into the tricycle.

The situation became chaotic as a fight broke out between different interest groups, while some individuals tried to apportion blame.

Firefighters, the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, OYRTMA, and the Nigerian Police were on ground to manage the situation.

The tanker driver was said to be at large. Security operatives declined to speak on the accident, noting that the accident is still under investigation.
