Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State expanded activities at the Government House, Owerri, to holy mass in the Lent period.

The Governor, observing the commencement of Lent, bowed before the alter in the company of the Priest, receiving the Ash of the Eucharis.

Governor Uzodimma highlighted: "The Holy Eucharistic Mass held at the Government House Chapel, Owerri, for the solemnity of Ash Wednesday, marked the commencement of the Lenten season, a sacred period devoted to profound reflection, spiritual renewal, and disciplined devotion.

"As we embark upon this Lenten journey, the enduring virtues of repentance, self-denial, and charity stand as moral beacons, guiding us toward the realization of a more compassionate society and a greater nation.

"The imposition of ashes served as a humbling reminder of our humanity and our call to live lives anchored in faith and service.

"May this season inspire in us a renewed commitment to righteousness, unity, and the common good."
