Lisabi Festival: Gani Adams Urges Ogun Govt to Unlock Olumo Rock for Economic Growth
The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has called on the Ogun State Government to prioritize tourism as a means of boosting the state’s economy.
Adams made the call during the ongoing Lisabi Festival and Olumo celebrations in Abeokuta. He noted that Olumo Rock holds great potential for economic development but remains underutilized.
He advocated for the separation of the Olumo Festival from Lisabi Day celebrations to allow for better planning and independent funding, which he said, would help position the festival as a global tourism asset.
Adams added that the Olumo Festival Foundation is ready to improve infrastructure but requires stronger government support.
In his remarks, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, commended Adams for promoting Yoruba culture and urged Egba indigenes to embrace the festival as a tool for economic growth.
