Delta Police Commissioner Charges Officers On Discipline, Professionalism
The Delta State Police commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has charged officers and men under his Command to shun all forms of unprofessional conduct in the discharge of their duties.
CP OYeniyi made the disclosure during a meeting with senior officers of the Command to address concerns relating to the conduct, discipline, and professionalism of personnel.
CP Yemi Oyeniyi's meeting with Area Commanders, Tactical, Divisional Police Officers and heads of departments is coming on the heels of the extra-judicial killing by a policeman at the Uvwie Area Command in Effurun.
The Delta Police Commissioner cautioned against misuse of firearms by officers and men of the command.
The killing of the 28-year-old Mene Ogidi by a trigger happy policeman in Effurun has generated heated debate across the country, with many condemning the act and calling for a speedy trial of the Policemen after their dismissal by the police service commission.
